Flatulence during pregnancy

Distention of the stomach and intestines by gas, resulting in a bloated feeling and the frequent desire to pass flatus, is a common complaint during pregnancy. Milk of magnesia after each meal to increase intestinal activity helps, also the avoidance of gas-producing foods such as beans, parsnips, corn, onions, cabbage, fried foods, and sweet desserts. Pureed vegetables may give additional relief.
